Admissions Information

The Reading Strand All prospective doctoral students must meet the requirements of the UNC Charlotte Graduate School. Applications of students who meet the requirements of the Graduate School are reviewed by the Reading Strand program faculty and applicants of interest are asked to come in for interviews by program faculty. Following the interviews, students are asked to provide a writing sample to a prompt Reading/Literacy strand programs.

Tips for Applying to the Reading/Literacy Program:

 

  • Do your homework first. With several doctoral program options, it is important for us to know why you want to apply to the Reading/Literacy Strand.

  • Follow the guidelines of the UNC Charlotte Graduate School.  We do not accept late applications or incomplete applications. It is each applicant's responsibility to meet Graduate School and Program deadlines. The deadline for the applications to be submitted to the Reading/Literacy Strand of the C&I doctoral program is November 15. We do not accept late applications or incomplete applications.

  • Be professional. Be prepared and on time to interviews. We have limited windows of time for interviewing applicants and must meet deadlines, so please arrange time for interviews during the time offered.
